Even as movie box office receipts decline and newer forms of media continue to pick up viewers, there are still some mighty big draws on celluloid. This year’s crop included two giant franchises, whose newest releases reliably gathered fans around the world. Then there was a “small” film – a documentary made in Antarctica that seemed to touch hearts in all climates.
